SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION...
The primary objective of choosing to study the book, “Winning without Greed,” is to learn and better understand the servant leadership principles which we strive to follow as Christians in our families, in the churches, in volunteer work, and in our work place.
My personal experience of having discussions with close friends as spiritual mentors over a period of 25 years, meeting as often as weekly, was invaluable in helping me on my continuing journey to live a life by these principles.
I have found these four simple steps fruitful in such discussions and studies:
- An individual who has a passion for the subject organizes and leads a focus group of from five to 10 people.
- “Winning without Greed” is divided into four parts and discussed over four sessions. The free study guide found in the web site winningwithoutgreed.com is also helpful, designed for six sessions.
- Each member in a group can assume the role of ‘leader’ and repeat numbers 1 and 2 above with a new, emerging group.
- When an individual has completed two 4 or 6 week sessions, he or she could be advised to form a small group of another 3 to 5 individuals to meet periodically to discuss and experiment in their own environments the principles of a servant led organization.
